Who is Scotty of ScottyCentral.com?
First of all, I can’t believe you’re actually reading this page. But since you’re here, I guess I should let you know a little bit about me.
My name is Scott Kublin and ‘m currently 36 years old. (I turn 37 in November, 2008.) I live in a small town just outside of Savannah, Georgia named Rincon. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Jennifer, since 1995 and we have 3 incredibly talented and beautiful daughters. Makenzie is 11, Sydney is 9 and Riley is 5.
I was born in Albany, New York, and later moved to South Burlington, Vermont when I was in eighth grade. After graduating high school from the freezing cold city of South Burlington, I decided to move south to Savannah and attend Armstrong State College so I could enjoy the rays from that small yellow thing in the sky that I had heard so much about.
I was originally enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Armstrong, but soon realized that I was more likely enrolled in Alcohol Consumption 101…which I definitely passed. Since I quickly realized that college wasn’t for me, I instead decided to take a 4-6 month course to become an Emergency Medical Technician, more familiarly known as an “ambulance driver”.
I passed the course with flying colors and later went on for an additional year of classes so I could become a Paramedic. Two years after I was licensed as a Paramedic, I went to South College for an additional year of core courses and received an Associate of Science Degree in Paramedic Technology.
7 years into my job as a Paramedic, I realized that not only did the degree that I received not do anything for my career, but my job as a Paramedic was just that…a job. My annual raises were in the amount of .25 to .50 cents per hour and there really wasn’t any way I’d ever be “well off” no matter how long I continued working in this field.
Luckily, in 1996, I had started learning how to design websites. One website led to another website, which then led to several more websites…all done for other people’s businesses. My dad and I started up a company named InterWeb Designs, which soon became the company known for professional website design in the Savannah area.
Working as a Paramedic actually was very beneficial to the launch of my website design business because I was able to take my computer to work each shift and work on websites when not on any calls. (I worked a 24-hour shift at a station/small apartment.) In 2000, my website design business had become so busy and profitable, that I was able to turn in my resignation as a Paramedic, in order to work full-time on website design…out of my house.
6 years and 200+ websites later, I could sense that the enjoyment of designing websites for others was fading. I was tired of time-constraints, chasing after people to pay their bills, client email problems, countless phone calls, and always “taking” my job with me no matter where I went.
In September, 2006, I made the decision that I was going to start learning more about search engine optimization (SEO) so that I could begin my own online businesses and designing websites for myself that would achieve natural organic search engine results. Lucky for me, in October of 2006, I joined StomperNet.
For those of you not familiar with StomperNet, it is an advanced course/community/forum/mastermind group on not only SEO, but also on keyword research, affiliate marketing, online commerce, conversion, and much more. StomperNet’s launch was the largest launch in internet history, signing up just under 2000 people at a incredibly high monthly subscription price of $797.
Although the monthly price tag is very high for StomperNet, I can attest that the knowledge I’ve gained from being a member has more than been worth it. In January, 2008, I sent an email to all of my then current website client’s to let them know that I was getting out of the website design business and would no longer be their point of contact for future websites or modifications to existing sites. (I didn’t leave them stranded…my dad was still very much enjoying working with clients and designing websites, so he took over their accounts for me.)
Fast forward two years later and I’m still a member of StomperNet. I have started up several different types of online businesses, which include affiliate marketing, e-commerce, and a really cool real estate lead referral system, which I’ll be discussing in further detail later on within this site. The success of all of these businesses is based primarily on high search engine rankings, which I’m now easily able to achieve.

I registered the domain name of ScottyCentral.com back in 1999. My original intentions for registering this domain were mostly to reserve something that I could later develop into “something”. I didn’t know exactly what I’d develop it into…I only knew that I wanted the domain. (ScottCentral.com was already registered, so I had to get ScottyCentral.com…even though my name is actually Scott.)
With blogs more popular than ever now, I recently decided that now is the time to do something with this domain. As a gadget lover, internet marketer, seo addict, a recent PC to Mac converter, as well as a father of three, ScottyCentral.com has now been born as a place for me to discuss all of the above. My intentions are to blog 3-4 times per week and share with you anything from iPhone tutorials, gadget reviews, Mac tutorials, seo tips, to stories and pictures of my family events.
Hopefully, you’ll find most of the information I blog about useful and will continue to return to this site. If you learn just one thing during your visit that makes your life simpler/less stressful, my intentions have been met.
Enjoy!!!
Scott
