Added 9/18/2008 - For those of you who “stumble” across my site when trying to figure out how to cancel The Net Effect Journal, StomperNet has put together a dedicated cancellation site at www.CancelNetEffect.com.
By now, you’ve probably already heard about the upcoming launch of Stomping the Search Engines 2. As a full-time Stompernet member for the past 2 years, I was lucky enough to get access to the new version on Thursday of last week, and thought I’d share my personal review of it.
First of all, I need to disclose that I never watched the first version of Stomping the Search Engines. So, my review of this latest version is based on how accurate and informative it is compared to the extensive training I’ve received in search engine optimization since I first joined Stompernet back in October, 2006.
In the original version of Stomping The Search Engines, Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins narrated and taught the entire course. In the new version, Brad and Andy only teach during module 1 of 7. The additional modules are taught by well-known “online” experts such asAndy Edmonds, Leslie Rhodes, Dan Thies and Jerry West.
After I finished watching the first module, I have to admit, I was extremely ticked off. I was mad because I’ve spent over $20,000 during the last 2 years in membership fees for StomperNet and I felt like Brad and Andy were now providing all of this content within a product that retails for $495.
As I progressed through the remaining 6 modules, it only added more fuel to the fire. Each module provides an incredible wealth of information on not only search engine optimization strategies, but also on keyword research, site structure, optimizing content, and conversion tactics.
And then something else got me even more upset…
The Net Effect

The Net Effect
Another product that StomperNet is coming out with is a monthly published magazine that will be named “The Net Effect“. More appropriately labeled as a journal rather than a magazine, I was again lucky enough to get my hands on a press copy of the first issue during the StomperNet Live 6 event I attended last week.
The Net Effect is a full color publication that is loaded with extremely informative articles. The press copy version that I read through has information and articles about keyword research, traffic marketing, article marketing, customer relationship marketing, technology, and social media.
At the back of the journal is a Monthly Action Plan that shows you step-by-step “How to turn this issue into a Goldmine!”. The action plan was written by Don Crowther, who is best known for his social media course taught earlier this year named SMARTS.
In all honesty, The Net Effect contains awesome information. It’s the kind of information that gets you excited when you read it because a lot of the techniques and strategies that you read can easily be implemented on your existing website, with results noticeable within 2-3 days.
Of course, reading The Net Effect fully through only gets me even more upset knowing that a subscription retails for around $39 per month. I realize that nothing can compare to the training I’ve received from StomperNet these past 2 years, but there are a lot of very simple tactics that are being revealed in both STSE2 and The Net Effect that had a skyrocketing effect in the organic search engine rankings of several of my websites.
But Wait!!!

There’s yet another reason for me to get upset. A recent email I received from Andy Jenkins revealed exactly how much Stomping the Search Engines 2 and The Net Effect are going to cost. And I must say that it’s ridiculous. In order to get exposure for The Net Effect, Andy has put together an almost can’t refuse offer for Stomping The Search Engines 2. Because of the hype that Andy wants to build up for the launch on September 3rd, I’m not allowed to tell you exactly how much everything is going to cost…yet.
Updated 9/3/08 - Pricing for STSE 2 has now been “revealed” and is as follows: Pay only shipping and handling fees and receive STSE 2 and first issue of The Net Effect for free. Each additional month that you receive The Net Effect will be $39.95, however, if you cancel within the first 30 days, you still get to keep the first issue as well as your copy of STSE 2. (Now do you see why I’m mad?)
In summary, both Stomping the Search Engines 2 and The Net Effect are 2 incredible products. The information provided is very valuable and they don’t hold anything back as a way to get you to sign up for StomperNet. Brad and Andy have a reputation of always over-delivering and when they reveal the pricing structure for these 2 new products, you’ll certainly agree that they are living up to that reputation.
Yes, I really am upset that they are making this information so readily available. The amount of things I have learned over the past 2 years as a StomperNet member is easily worth twice what I’ve paid for it, but I’m not happy about them revealing as much as they are with these 2 new products. I feel as though I’ve helped to pay for their staff of experts who have now helped them make these 2 new products. And because of the incredible pricing offer that goes with these 2 products, they will likely sell a boatload and get rich.
Meanwhile, I’ll have to continue to work harder and harder at seo since more and more people will be learning a lot of the strategies that, up until now, have been kept in private.
PS: The sales page for Stomping the Search Engines 2 is being updated daily by Andy himself. Each day, he reveals a tiny bit more information about what to expect on Wednesday, September 3rd at 2pm. In typical StomperNet style, it also features a countdown clock until launch, as well as a very loud and annoying “24″ theme song clip.

I understand completely where you are coming from on this and I nearly made similar comments in my long review of Stomping The Search Engines.
But I know that members of StomperNet have a vast resource to call upon and an active community so whilst they are upgrading everyone else’s SEO ability, provided they watch and then take action diligently, they will struggle to compete with the true masters.
Can you imagine the difficulty of going up against Brad on wedding favors or Andy on armor?
Serious SEO is a grind and takes a lot of effort so for most people, the money is not going to be in the extra effort.
Stomping The Search Engines 2.0 is an excellent product but I’m not recommending it to the millions of small businesses who’d be much better with a done for you service.
Sigh… so beefy! What happened to Scotty Sunshine?
I tried to get that domain but it showed that you had already registered it. What’s up with that?
I agree - this is a fine product. I’d like to have had a transcript with the DVD or some kind of reference work, but I understand Videos are better for a lot of people.
The magazine is pretty cool too - The Net Effect - but I think Stomping The Search Engines 2 is the main product on offer, and for that alone I give it 9/10
Today is October 6th, but I still not yet received my copy of the “Stomping The Search Engines 2″ and “The Net Effect”. I ordered it on Sep. 4th.
It may be an excellent product, but poor customer support. All my email enquiries vanished in cyberspace!
Hi George,
I received an email update indicating that after doing an audit last week, StomperNet discovered there were several domestic orders that had never shipped out. (Or at least UPS hadn’t scanned them into the truck.)
StomperNet’s plan is to reship all those customers a new order at their (StomperNet’s) cost. They will also “reset” the clock on the 30 day trial.
I’m not making excuses for why they haven’t answered your email inquiries…I’m just letting you know what I’ve heard on my end.
